CamGrab-2+ -
What's New v1.1(beta)
<
Back to CamGrab-2 main page
This is a quick overview on what's new in the small
update. (most changes are from user suggestions)
Smaller more compact layout goes someway to help users
with low resolution displays. The window border shadow has also been reduced.
A completely new interface will be implemented in a future release.

Added simple edit of captured image sequence (E.g. Before
saving to AVI file). Three new buttons control range selection and image delete
functions.

Pressing the delete button will present the option of
deleting the current frame or a previously selected range of frames.

To select a range; First display the start frame and press
the range start button. Next move to the end frame and press the range end
button. As you move through the frames using the slider the current image
filename is displayed. For images within the selected range the text is
highlighted in red to indicate this.
When it comes to saving the images to AVI file a number
of suggestions should be considered:
First make sure the playback speed is as required, The
playback speed slider not only determines the playback speed within the CamGrab
player but also for saved AVI files.
The CoDec choice will determine the image quality and file size, I recommend
using DivX available for download here:

Download DivX Now!
Because of the relatively low quality of
webcam images, a reasonably good quality video can be made with a low bitrate
(below 50kbps). Low bitrates help to keep the file size down.

What's New v1.2 (beta)
By request v1.2 includes initial support for capturing the
webcams viewed with YahSee* (The webcam viewing component of YahELite
- a great replacement client to Yahoo Messenger).
This version also makes registration slightly easier by providing Copy&Paste
buttons to aid code/key transfers.
-
What's New v1.3 (beta)
Small improvements and minor bug fixes. Added move window
option, this will ensure the webcam image is within the screen area E.g. in some
cases when capturing a small webcam near the screen edge the switch to large
size could push the image area off screen:
(Access
from the image save settings)
By request Menu option in playback window for
simple file operations: Delete folder (including all contained images), Rename
folder - useful after capture to enter more info and reset frame counter, Move -
Move the current image folder to another location (Please note you will no
longer be able to view from CamGrab player as CamGrab looks only in the selected
save location (This will be addressed in a future release).

(*Some reports of problems using YahSee,
Interested in hearing from anyone experiencing success or problems with this.)
